  • Notes
    • Rev. Byron H. Stauffer, "was born August 27th, 1870. His boyhood days were spent on the farm near Plattsville, Ontario. When half through his "teens" he began to study for teacher and after being qualified he taught several years in our public schools, but he soon found the teaching profession not to be a very flattering one. About this time his mind became aroused as to spiritual affairs and he seemed to recognize in his internal feelings a call to the ministerial career for which he seemed to be naturally gifted. He now entered upon the preparatory studies at Albert College, Belleville, Ontario, where he, after passing his examinations, was licensed to preach in October, 1893. He possesses the ability to become one of the noted preachers of the M. E. Church of which body he is a minister. As a clergyman he speaks with force, being solid, weighty and emphatic in his delivery. At present he is stationed at Holland, New York, where he has been doing a good work for the Lord during the past year. On December 31st, 1891, he was married to Mary E. Cairnes. To them is born one son named Gladys."
