Notes |
- BOND, JOHN
On Sunday, June 3, 1906, at 3: 30 a. m. , aged 71 years and 11 months. Mr. Bond lived at Little's Corners, near Galt, until about forty years ago, when he removed to Puslinch, near the Lake School, having married Elizabeth Ricker of Sheffield. The couple had two sons (now at home) and seven daughters, two of the latter being deceased. Surviving are: Miss Bond, a nurse in Boston; Mrs. William Little of Puslinch; Mrs. Angus Clark of Vancouver; Miss Ruth, a nurse in Boston; Miss Eleanor, at home. Mr. Bond was a Methodist. He never had any serious illness before but had been failing for some months and took to his bed two weeks ago, gradually sinking after that. The two daughters from Boston, who are trained nurses, were continuously at his bedside but despite the most tender care, his strength gradually ebbed away and death came quietly and peacefully, surrounded by all of the family except Mrs. Clark, who is in Vancouver. In politics, Mr. Bond was a consistent Conservative. Funeral from his late residence, "Lakeside Farm" on Tuesday at 1. Interment Hespeler Cemetery. The largely attended service was conducted by Rev. A. M. Hamilton.
