Relatives and Friends from Town Pay Last Respects to Beloved Woman
Followed by a large concourse of friends and relatives the funeral of the late Mrs. W. G. Weichel, wife of W. G. Weichel, the member of the Provincial Legislature for North Waterloo took place Monday afternoon form her late residence on Allan Street, Waterloo to the St. James' United church where services were conducted by Rev. W. H. Harvey, pastor. Following services the cortege proceeded to Mount Hope where interment was made.
The funeral procession consisted of more than 50 automobiles, four of which were used as conveyances for the numerous moral tributes.
Among those who attended the funeral from Elmira were Mrs. M. Weichel Sr., Mr. John Weichel and Miss Marie, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Ruppel and sons, Mr. and Mrs. John H. Ruppel, Mr. and Mrs. H. O. Weichel, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Heimbecher, Mr. Charles Weichel, Mr. and Mrs. Hilbert Weichel, Mr. and Mrs. C. N. Kiluck, Mr. Oscar Weichel, Mr. Harry Weichel, Mrs. Will Ludwig, Mrs. E. M. Matthews, Mrs. John Miller, Messrs. Oscar Vogt, E. M. Arnold, Arthur Ullyot, Henry Muth, Harry Zilliax and Howard Schedewitz.
The honorary pallbearers were Messrs. E. F. Seagram, Hon. Jos. Thompson, speaker of the Ontario House, Hon. Lincoln Goldie, provincial secretary, W. Carthew, J. J. Seitz, A. G. Gough, Reinhold Lang, Harvey Sims, Oscar Vogt, and Edgar Bauer. The active pallbearers were C. A. Boehm, A. Foster, C. W. Snider, J. S. Roos, W. Bricker and H. Hass.
The death of Mrs. Weichel, which occurred very suddenly, came as a great shock to her family as she had been in the best of health. Friday morning she was preparing to go to Toronto with her husband but changed her mind as she was not feeling well. An hour after Mr. Weichel had left she was seized with a heart attack from which she (continued on Page 3)
