- ARMSTRONG, Winnifred (Wynn)-Passed away peacefully, on Saturday, October 12, 2002, at Riverbend Place, Cambridge.
Wynn resided in Waterloo. She was born 80 years ago in Port Dalhousie, a daughter of the late William H. and Cecilia (Colborne) Matthews. Wynn was a member of the Church of the Holy Saviour, Waterloo as well as the Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 580, Waterloo where she was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary. Wynn was also involved with the 404 Wing Air Force Club, the Navy Vets, the Wren Association and had volunteered at Scott Pavilion at K-W Hospital. She was an avid bowler and loved to travel.
Beloved wife of the late Rev. Joseph Albert Armstrong, who predeceased her in 1964. Loving mother of Richie (predeceased), Lee and Gary Armstrong of Cambridge, Les and Deborah Armstrong of New Hamburg, Lawrence and Shirley Armstrong of Kitchener, Tanis and Sidney Sloat of Burgessville. Dear grandmother of Brett, Deanna, Neil, Trisha, Lacy, Mark, Savannah and Shelby and five great-grandchildren. Also missed by daughter-in-law, Rosemary and Rick Wehrle of Kitchener and sister-in-law, Rose Matthews of California, USA. Also remembered by a number of nieces and nephews.
Wynn was predeceased by a brother, Cyrill and by sisters, Muriel and here husband Les Bird and Edith and her husband Lawrence Gfell.
Cremation has taken place. Family and friends are invited to a memorial service on Sunday, October 20, 2002 at 2 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 580, 19 Regina St. N., Waterloo. Burial in Greenwood Cemetery, Milverton.
