Notes |
- The Rev. Theophilus Berner
In June of 1907 the church board petitioned the Buffalo Synod President, John N. Grabau, to supply a pastor with the necessary qualifications. The Synod President sent the Rev. Theophilus Berner as a candidate. He had recently graduated from the Buffalo Seminary in December, 1906 and was fluent in both the German and English languages. He had served as a Parochial School teacher from January to June of 1907. On June 16, 1907 he preached his first sermon in St. Martini Lutheran Church. At the time the church had 88 members.
