  DEATH OF MRS. ROBT, AMOS This lady, to whose serious illness reference was made in the last issue of the REFORMER, passed away, somewhat unexpectedly, on Thursday evening. Mrs. Amos was a native of Lilliesleaf, Scotland, where she was married to her now bereaved husband, in 1845. The following year she came to Canada, where Mr. Amos had taken up land, in the "Paisley Block." They subsequently purchased a farm in the Dickie Settlement, afterwards, removing to Galt. The deceased was the mother of nine children, seven sons and two daughters, all of whom with the exception of one daughter, survive her. She was noted for her kindly and hospitable disposition and will be greatly missed by her friends and neighbors. The funeral took place on Saturday afternoon, and was attended by a large concourse of friends . Rev. J . A . R. Dickson B. D. pastor of Central Presbyterian Church of which deceased was a member, assisted by Rev. Dr. Torrance, her former pastor at Guelph, officiated. The Dumfries Reformer 17 Sep 1891 pg 1
