• Notes

  Our obituary today contains a notice of the death of Mr. James Welland, which took place at his residence in Galt on Friday afternoon last. His disease n the first place was inflammation of the lungs, followed by inflammation of the bowels. Mr. Welland had been in the employ of Messrs. Goldie & McCulloch for the past eleven years, and was highly respected by his brother workmen. He was a member of the benefit society established among the benefit society established among the employees of these Works, and his death makes the third which has taken place since the society was established. Mr. Welland was a native of Surry, Eng., and leaves a widow and four sons - three of whom reside in Galt and one in Hanover - to mourn his loss.
