  At Greensville, on Wednesday, April 2nd, James Risk, aged 28 years. The funeral will take place from the G. W. R. Station, Galt, to the Galt Cemetery, on arrival of the 10:50 a.m. train, Friday, the 4th inst. Galt Reporter Apr 4 1884 pg 1 ____________________________ Death of Mr. James Risk Yesterday (Thursday) morning we were pained at receiving a dispatch from Dundas announcing the death of this gentleman, at Greensville, where he has been carrying on business since 1881. Mr. Risk was a son of the late Moses Risk, Esq., Distiller and Maltster, of Glasgow, Scotland. He came to Canada in 1874, and was employed for a short time in London, Ontario. He came to Galt in 1875 and took the position of book-keeper in the establishment of Messrs. Cameron & Cowan. Thence he removed to Hamilton, taking a position in the audit office of the G.W.R. In 1879 he accepted a position in the office of Mr. Thomas Todd, in Galt, with whom he remained until leaving for Greensville in 1881. That year he married Miss Maggie Groff, niece of Mrs. John Goldie, of Galt. He was a young man of sterling qualities, possessing more than average abilities, and was a favorite with all who knew him. The Dundas Banner says: - "Mr. Risk had been unwell fr sometime, but so sudden an ending to this useful life was scarcely expected. Since engaging in business in Greensville he had won many fast friends, to know him being beyond doubt to esteem him." Galt Reporter Apr 4 1884 pg 1
