    • Death of an Old Resident - There passed away on Saturday evening last, at the age of 52 years, Mr. Chas. W. Girdlestone, for many years past a resident of Galt. The deceased gentleman had been ailing for some months past, so that his death was not altogether unexpected. Some years ago Mr. Girdlestone occupied a seat in Galt Council, and was looked upon as being possessed of more than average ability; but was remarkably reserved in his manner, and never made the friends he might otherwise have done. He was a native of England, and leaves a widow and young family to mourn his loss.
