- Louise Caroline Strohkirch died at her home in Buckeye township, Nov. 24, after a long illness. She was born in Hamburg, Germany, Dec. 10, 1844. When 17 years of age she came to Canada and settled in Perth county, Ontario.
In 1865 she was married to William Strochkirch and settled on a farm in Perth county where they lived until May, 1897, when they came to Michigan and settled on their farm in Buckeye township. Mr. Strohkirch passed away a few years ago.
Mrs. Strohkirch was a hard working woman and always willing to help in time of need, and a kind mother, a loving friend, and won the respect of all who know her.
She was the mother of 12 children. Besides neighbors and a host of friends she leaves to mourn her loss six sons and four daughters and 17 grandchildren. The children are Mrs. Charles Katille of Detroit, Mrs. Terry Hunt of Gladwin, Charles and Edward Strohkirch of Ontario, Mrs. Philip Morgan, Louis Strohkirch, Mrs. Ells Smallwood, Chris, Theodore and Julius Strohkirch of Gladwin.
