- Former Elmira Boy Dies at Battle Creek
A relative of his has notified us of the death of Donald Stuart, who died of heart disease while a patient in the sanitarium at Battle Creek, Mich. His father, William Stuart, formerly carried on a blacksmithing business in the shop now owned by Mr. Truman Wideman.
Deceased was born at St. Jacobs on the 27th of November, 1861. He spent his early years here, receiving his education in the Elmira Public School. He leaves his wife and three children, Claud J., Mrs. Maud Tucker and Miss Dona, all of Hastings, Mich., also five brothers and one sister, namely, William and Edward, of Grand Forks, B. C.; George, who is principal of a school in Spokane; Charles, of Grand Rapids; Dr. A. A. Stuart, of Detroit, and Mrs. Russel Hawkins of Bradford, Pa. The father of the deceased is also still alive and resides at Westport, Minnesota. He is 82 years old.
