CAMBRIDGE - The voice familiar to thousands of kids in the 1980s and '90s as Cambridge's Sparky the Fire Dog is now silent.
Retired, Capt. Bill Donahue, who spearheaded the development of the Cambridge Fire Department' public education division died Monday, (Dec. 5) at the age of 70 at Cambridge Memorial Hospital.
Donahue served with the Cambridge Fire Department for 31 years.
"Bill was a pioneer in the field of fire public education," said Chief Neil Main. "His enthusiasm and dedication to the field of public education is still being felt in the fire service today."....
