- ZEHR, Edna Edna Zehr, 96, of Tavistock, passed away in Stratford General Hospital on Thursday, February 16, 2012. She was born in Wilmot Township, Waterloo County on August 22, 1915, a daughter of the late Daniel and Nancy (Erb) Nafziger. She had resided at Bright until moving to Tavistock in 1985 where she was a member of Tavistock Mennonite Church. Edna married Laverne Zehr at Baden on May 3, 1939. He predeceased her on August 9, 1970. She is survived by her three children, Marlene and husband Bruce Roe of Woodstock, Carol and husband Donald Mordue of Tavistock, Donald and wife Pat Zehr of Woodstock; six grandchildren, Judy and husband Gordon Downey, Wayne Roe and friend Karen, Kim and husband Paul Leuverink, Michelle and husband Ross Schumm, Tom Black and Sheri Black; eleven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Floyd and wife Erma Nafziger of Breslau, Leonard and wife Joyce Nafziger of Waterloo; one sister, Vera Wismer of New Hamburg; "Zehr" brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Curtis Zehr, Ivan and Millie Zehr, Delmer and Clara Zehr, Lorne and Delphine Zehr, Gerald and Wendy Gascho, along with several nieces, nephews and their families. She was predeceased by brothers and sisters-in-law, Elmer and Ann Nafziger, Vernon and Elda Nafziger, Emerson and Delphine Nafziger; sisters and brothers-in-law, Betty and Gerald Steffler, Dorothy and Alvin Martin, Erma and Lyle Coverette, Alice Nafziger (in infancy) and Harold Wismer; "Zehr" brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Melvin and Doris Wagler and Jean Gascho. Relatives and friends will be received in the Francis Funeral Home , 77 Woodstock Street North, Tavistock on Sunday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held in Tavistock Mennonite Church on Monday, February 20, 2012 at 2 p.m. The Rev. Paul Adams will officiate. Interment in East Zorra Mennonite Cemetery, 16th line. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario would be appreciated and may be made through the Francis Funeral Home by calling 1-519-655-2431.
