  Zehr, Laverne, son of Nicklas and Clara (Erb) Zehr, was born in East Zorra Twp., Ont., Apr. 8, 1916; died at the Stratford General Hospital, of a stroke, Aug. 8, 1970; aged 54 y. 4 m. On May 3, 1939, he was married to Edna Nofziger, who survives. Also surviving are 3 children (Marlene - Mrs. Bruce Roe, Carol - Mrs. Don Mordue, and Donald), 3 grandchildren, his mother, 4 brothers (Curtis, Ivan, Delmar, and Lorne), and 2 sisters (Doris - Mrs. Melvin Wagler and Jean - Mrs. Gerald Gascho). He was a member of the East Zorra Church, where funeral services were held Aug. 11, with Newton L. Gingrich officiating; interment in the adjoining cemetery.
