  Passing of Mrs. Elliot - The death took place on Sunday afternoon of Mrs. Elliot, relict of the late Wm. H. Elliot. The deceased, who had been in failing health for some time, went to the Galt hospital about a month ago, where she died. She was in her 70th year and was a native of North Dumfries, a daughter of the late James Edgar. Practically all her married life was spent in Ayr, where she resided about half a century. Her husband predeceased her some 12 years. There was no family. A brother, James, died two weeks ago in Howick. Another brother, Alexander, resides in Howick, and a sister, Mrs. Jane Black, at Elora. Mrs. Elliot was a member of Knox church, and was widely known and highly esteemed. The funeral took place from her late residence, Bruce-st., on Tuesday, 19 interment being made in the Ayr cemetery. Rev. Mr. Grant conducted the funeral services. The pallbearers were Messrs. John Scott, Teeswater; James Black, Alex. Edgar, J. A. Edgar, Ayr; Wm. Edgar, and Robert Black, Howick.
