- A-2-153 Mary Blacklock The Last Will and Testament of Mary Blacklock late of the Town of Galt, (wife of Thomas Blacklock) who died on or about the eleventh day of May 1862 at the Town of Galt, and who at the time of her death had a fixed place of abode at the Town of Galt, was proved and registered in the said Surrogate Court, a true copy of which said Last Will and Testament is hereunder written and that the administration of all and singular the personal estate and effects, rights and credits of the said deceased and any way concerning her Will was granted to James Allan of the town of Galt, Carpenter, the sole Executor named in the said will…
…In the name of God, Amen. I Mary Blacklock of the Town of Galt, being of sound mind and disposing memory, Blessed be Almighty God for the same, do make and publish this my Last Will and Testament in manner and form following, that is to say.
(First) I Will and direct that all my just debts, funeral and testamentary expenses be paid by my dear Nephews David Brown and Thomas Blacklock Sanders as soon after my decease as possible.
(Second) I will and bequeath to my dear friend the Reverand Robert Acheson all my personal property, goods and household furniture of whatsoever nature or kind soever to be by him distributed and appropriated to and among the several persons as directed by me in writing and signed by me.
(Third) I will and bequeath to my dear brother Gavin Brown the sum of twenty five pounds to be paid by my said nephews David and Thomas in equal proportions within two years from and after the time of my decease.
(Fourth) I will and bequeath to my dear sister-in-law, Elizabeth Brown, the sum of twelve pounds and ten shillings to be paid to her by my said nephews David and Thomas in equal proportions within three years from and after the time of my decease.
(Fifth) I will and bequeath to my dear sister-in-law Jane Brown the sum of twelve pounds and ten shillings to be paid to her by my said nephews David and Thomas in equal proportions within three years from and after the time of my decease.
(Sixth) I will, devise and bequeath to my dear nephews David Brown and Thomas Blacklock Sanders all my real and equitable estate of whatever nature or kind soever and wheresoever situate which I either now have in possession or may be entitled to in expectancy, and particularly all my legal and equitable title and right in and to Lot Number Six, north side of Main Street in the Town of Galt, containing by admeasurement, one rood and five perches of land be the same more or less, together with all the houses and buildings thereon erected and being to have and to hold the same with all the rest and residue of my real estate to them the said David Brown and Thomas Blacklock Sanders, their heirs and assigns in equal shares and proportions forever, subject nevertheless to the said David and Thomas aying in equal proportions the debts and interest due to James Crombie on the above mentioned Lot, my just debts and funeral expenses and the legacies hereinbefore mentioned and bequeathed by me to my brother Gavin Brown, to my sister-in-law Elizabeth Brown and also to my sister-in-law Jane Brown.
(Seventh) I nominate and appoint James Allan of the Town of Galt, Carpenter, Executor of this my Last Will and Testament, with full power to him to settle all differences and disputes that my arise between the parties expecting the distribution hereinbefore willed and devised by me.
(Lastly) I declare this to be my Last Will and Testament hereby revoling all former Wills and dispositions by me at any time heretofore made.
