- Boshart. - Peter Boshart was born in Waterloo Co., Ont., May 14, 1870; died Sept. 7, 1942, at the Stratford, Ont., General Hospital after a sickness of a few weeks' duration from dia-betes and complications; aged 72 y. 3 m. 23 d. He accepted Christ as his Saviour in his youth and was a faithful member of the Amish Mennonite Church until death. He was ordained to the ministry Nov. 8, 1903. He was united in marriage with Sister Nancy Schultz Oct. 4, 1892. Sister Boshart predeceased him on April 26, 1936. They shared life together for 43 years and 6 months. To this union were born 3 sons and 1 daughter; 11 grandchildren, a great-grandchild, 1 brother, 1 sister survive. Two brothers and 4 sisters predeceased him. The funeral was largely attended by neighbors, friends and relatives. Services at the Poole A. M. Church, conducted by Bros. Peter Nafziger of St. Agatha, Moses 0. Jantzi of Baden, Ont., and Christian Martin of Lancaster, Pa. Burial in the adjoining cemetery.

Rev. Peter Boshart - A well-known and highly esteemed resident of Topping. Rev. Peter Boshart passed away in the Stratford General Hospital at 6: 30 on Monday morning, Sept. 7th at the age of 72 years, 3 months and 23 days. Mr. Boshart had been ailing all summer but was not confined to his room until the first of August. Since that time he gradually became worse and on August 30th he was removed to the hospital where he underwent an operation for an abscess on his thigh on Saturday. He was also suffering from diabetes. The youngest of the family of the late Peter and Magdalena (Berge) Boshart, he was born on the boundary between Wellesley and Wilmot on May 14th, 1870. He spent his boyhood and young manhood in that locality and on October 4th, 1892 he was married to Annie (Nancy) Schultz, daughter of the late Menno and Elizabeth (Litweiller) Schultz. Immediately following their marriage they took up residence at Topping where he resided to the time of his death with the exception of five years which were spent in Baden. They went to Baden eleven years ago with the intention of retiring there but when Mrs. Boshart became seriously ill they returned to the farm. Mrs. Boshart passed away in April 1936. Mr. Boshart in addition to operating the farm was minister of the Poole (north) Mennonite Church and also the Steinman Mennonite Church. He also operated a threshing machine for over twenty years and became widely known throughout the district. He is survived by three sons and one daughter Emanuel of Cargill, Ezra on the homestead at Topping; Samuel of Milverton; Mrs. M. O. Erb (Salome) of Wellesley; eleven grandchildren; one great grandchild; one sister, Mrs. Mose Schlabach (Barbara) of New Hamburg; one brother Mr. Daniel Boshart of St. Agatha. The following brothers and sisters predeceased him: (Kate) Mrs. John Schultz, (Mary) Mrs. Peter Roth, Jacob, Jonas and Elizabeth who died in infancy. The funeral will be held Thursday with service at his late residence commencing at 1: 30 followed by a service in the Poole Mennonite Church (north) commencing at 2: 30. Interment will take place in the adjoining cemetery.
