| Sampler on coarse linen, dated 1770. Made by Magdalena Langenecker. Four lines of alphabet letters, under which is the maker's name and various motifs and ornaments, worked in reds, golds, and blues. Sampler is mounted on a stiff backing (has been removed). The original catalogue record notes that it had a black frame (presently unframed, 6/2000). A post 1950 family tree is adhered to the backing of the sampler, with family names: Bowman, Tyson, Urmy, Millar and Thibaudeau.
