- Mrs. Annie Katherine Mengersdorf
BADEN\emdash The death occurred on Monday, Feb. 26, of Mrs. Annie Katherine Mengersdorf, widow, of the village of Baden. The deceased lady had been ill for some months and last fall was removed to the Freeport Sanatorium where she died. Mrs. Mengersdorf was born on November 15, 1849 in Germany and was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Peter Hoffman, At the early age of six years she came to Canada and had been a resident here for many years. On May 17, 1880 the late Mrs. Mengersdorf was united in marriage to Mr. Jacob Mengersdorf who predeceased her in 1916. To this union was born two daughters, Lizzie, who died in infancy and Isabel, Mrs. Sydney Love, who died in 1934. The deceased lady had several brothers and sisters, all of whom predeceased her. Mrs. Mengersdorf was an attendant of St. Jacobs Lutheran Church. A private funeral service was held at Baden Hotel on Thursday afternoon at 2 p.m., where deceased resided in later years, with a public funeral service being held in St. Jacobs Lutheran Church. Rev. G. R. Schultz officiated at the funeral rites and burial was made in Fairmount Cemetery, south of Baden.
