    • GOWING, Grace Mildred October 31, 1914 - August 15, 2011 Passed away peacefully at Cambridge Memorial Hospital into the presence of her Lord, after a courageous battle with cancer. Predeceased by her father George Wesley Gowing, mother Ada Irene (nee Harvey), also brothers Robert, Bruce (Kathryn), Frank Gowing (Ruth), sister Ruth Dyck (Edgar), sister-in-law June Gowing, brother-in-law Gordon Debus. Survived by her sisters Jean Bowey (Elmer) of Cambridge, Mary Debus of Waterloo, brothers Ralph of Owen Sound, Clifford (Joyce) of Kitchener, Jack (Day) of Collingwood, sister-in-law Jean Gowing, as well as many nieces and nephews. A lifetime resident of Preston (Cambridge). Resided for more than 70 years at the family home on east King Street. Grace spent most of her career as a senior secretary for several local firms. In later years, she taught secretarial practices at the community college. She was a long time member of King Street Baptist Church, serving as treasurer and Sunday school teacher. Many years were also spent at Fairview Mennonite Home as a volunteer and teaching crafts. A Funeral Service will be held at Fairview Mennonite Home, 515 Langs Dr., Cambridge on Friday, August 19, 2011 at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at New Hope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Faith's Orphans Fund or to Fairview Mennonite Home. The family would like to thank the staff at Cambridge Memorial Hospital for their care and compassion shown and also to the many who looked after Grace at Fairview Mennonite Home.
