  Mrs. Abiah Shantz Passes - The community was saddened on Tuesday morning by the death of one of its well-known residents, Mrs. Abiah Shantz, who passed away in K-W Hospital in her 76th year. The former Della Cressman, she was born on the farm at lot 13, concession 14 of Blenheim Township on February 25, 1888, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Eli Cressman. Following her marriage to Abiah Shantz, who predeceased her in 1931, she lived on this farm until 1962, when she went to reside with her daughter, Mrs. Stewart Ivel, in St. Jacobs. The late Mrs. Shantz was a valued member of the Plattsville United Missionary Church, and of the WMS. After removing to St. Jacobs, she was affiliated with the WSWS of the Evangelical U.B. Church in that village. Surviving are three sons, Harry of London and Nile and Cameron of Plattsville; a daughter, Mrs. Stewart Ivel (Jewel) of St. Jacobs, and a twin brother, Gillis Cressman of Kindersley, Sask. Resting at the Glendinning Funeral Home until noon on Friday. Funeral service will be conducted at the United Missionary Church at 2.30 p.m. by Rev. D. T. Pugh, assisted by Rev. C. B. Carr of the St. Jacobs Evangelical U.B. Church. Interment will be made in New Dundee Cemetery. The Ayr News Feb 6 1964 pg 9
