  Amanda Reist, "the eldest daughter, was born November 24th, 1858. On April 27th, 1886, she was married to Josiah M. Eby. They reside about a mile west of Elmira and have a family of three sons" Eby, Ezra E. (1895). A biographical history of Waterloo township and other townships of the county: being a history of the early settlers and their descendants, mostly all of Pennsylvania Dutch origin: as also much other unpublished historical information chiefly of a local character. Berlin [Kitchener, Ont.]: [s.n.]. _____________ MRS. AMANDA EBY Mrs. Amanda Eby of Elmira passed away at her home here on Monday, Jan. 8. Deceased, who before her marriage to Josiah Eby, who predeaceased her ten years ago, was the former Miss Amanda Reist. Surviving are four sons, Moses of Elmira, Isaiah of Elmira, Menno of St. Jacobs, and Samuel of Yatton, and one daughter Persida, Mrs. Isaiah Martin of Heidelberg. The funeral was held on Wednesday afternoon from her late residence at 1.30 o'clock. Rev. John Bowman officiated. Interment took place in the Elmira Mennonite Cemetery.
