  Samuel L. Erb, "was born September 13th, 1820. He was married to Miss Annie Kay. They resided in the town of Waterloo where he was engaged in the mercantile business in partnership with Mr. John Shuh until his death which took place June 27th, 1861. To them was born a family of six children" Eby, Ezra E. (1895).
