- Louis Joseph Armstrong, 61, died suddenly at his home in St. Clements.
Mr. Armstrong, born in the Irish Block, (an Irish settlement east of Durham) had lived in St. Clements for the past three years and had worked as a mechanic at the Voisin garage. A son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Armstrong, he was a member of St. Clements RC Church.
He is survived by his wife, the former Doneloa Morrison, whom he married in Owen Sound, July 15, 1928; three sons Louis of Cassiar, B.C., Donald of Guelph and Jerome of Vedder-Crossing, B.C.; three daughters, Mrs. William, (Louise) Voisin of St. Clements, Mrs. Ronald (Geraldine) Bonner of Galt and Mrs. Gary (Christine) Schummer of Linwood; seven brothers, James of Kitchener, Murray, Norman, Jack and Patrick, all of Owen Sound, and Robert and Harold of the Irish Block; three sisters, Mrs. Mary King of Toronto, Mildred of Hamilton and Marie of Owen Sound, and nine grandchildren. He was predeceased by a sister, Christine.
The body was at the Futher Funeral Home, Wellesley, after noon Thursday. The rosary was recited at the funeral home at 8:30 p.m. Friday and prayers offered at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, followed by requiem high mass at St. Clements RC Church at 10 a.m. The service was conducted by Rev. Harry Brick. Burial was in St. Clements RC cemetery.
