JOHN SAUDER.
Local and district friends of Dr. Clarence H. Sauder, 63 Lincoln square, will regret to learn of the death of his father, John Sauder at the ripe old age of 83 years, the eldest in a family of nine, and all others surviving. Deceased was born in Waterloo county at the settlement known as Greenbush, which later was called Berlin, and is now Kitchener, and he lived near the site of the present Kitchener-Waterloo collegiate. Had until December 29, Mr. and Mrs. Sauder would have celebrated their diamond wedding jubilee. For many years the Sauder home at Zion settlement, two miles north of Preston. was "open house" to all ministers who officiated at Zion church situated on the Sauder farm, and this Wesleyan Methodist edifice accommodated the first congregation of that character north of Dundas, and was erected about 80 years ago. Besides the sorrowing widow, four sons and two daughters are left to mourn the loss. It is anticipated that many ministers from various parts of the province will be in attendance at the funeral to-morrow afternoon at the residence on Breslau road, when interment is to be made in Zion cemetery, Preston.
