• Notes

  Peter Souder, "a native of Saxony, Germany, was born December 28th, 1816, and emigrated to America when a young man. Soon after his arrival at Quebec he wended his way to Waterloo County, Ontario, where he settled. He was married to Polly, daughter of Jonas and Catherine (Livergood) Wildfong. She was born May 28th, 1828. Soon after their marriage they moved on a little farm a little east of Elmira where they resided about twelve years, then he sold his farm and purchased that (about 4 miles east of Berlin,) of the late Joseph Cressman, now possessed by John K. Devitt. Here they resided some fifteen years when he again sold out and moved to near Dundalk, Melanchton Township, Wellington County, Ontario, where they still reside" Eby, Ezra E. (1895). A biographical history of Waterloo township and other townships of the county: being a history of the early settlers and their descendants, mostly all of Pennsylvania Dutch origin: as also much other unpublished historical information chiefly of a local character.
