  EAGLE GEORGE Fatal Accident at Puslinch Lake A very sad accident at Puslinch Lake on Monday morning, January 2, 1882, resulted in the death of the son of Elijah Eagle. Two sons of Mr. Eagle thought they would spend the holiday in skating on the lake. After skating for some time, the elder of the two got on some thin ice, which gave way with him. His younger brother at once ran and gave the alarm but before assistance could arrive at the spot, George had disappeared. The little fellow was aged about 10 years. His body was recovered in about two hours after the accident. -Information from the death certificate: Aged 9 years and 9 months.
