  Mrs. Mary Veitel Waterloo friends friends and and relatives learned with regret of the passing of Mrs. Mary Veitel, which followed a stroke which it is believed hasten- ed her death. She was in her 81st year. They observed their golden wedding on May 26, 1935. Born in Heidelberg, Mrs. Veitel came to Waterloo fifty years ago where she since resided. There survive one son, Norman of Waterloo, two daughters, Mrs. N. H. Letter of Waterloo, and Mrs. Simon Thiel of Kitchener, also two brothers, Henry Ziegler of Waterloo, and Louis Zlegler of Brandon, Manitoba, and three sisters, Mrs. William Schaefer of Heldelberg and Misses Kate and Rose Ziegler of Detroit, Mich. Twelve grandchildren and one great grandchild also survive. The funeral services were held from the late residence, 116 King street north on Sunday with Rev. C. S. Roberts, pastor of the St. John's Lutheran Church, presiding. Interment was made in Mt. Hope cemetery. Waterloo Chronicle 16 Jan 1936, p. 5
