      THE LATE MRS. DAVID GIBBON

0n Friday afternoon last at, 3.15 o'clock, there passed away at her home in North Dumfries, Mrs. David Gibson, in her 71st year. Mrs. Gibson's early days were spent in the township of Loughboro near Kingston, she being the daughter of the late Samuel Jamieson, who was engaged for some years in that district teaching school. Sixty years ago the family moved west and located on a farm one mile north of this town. Her marriage to Mr. David Gibson was celebrated on the 6th day of Nov. 1846. A few years afterwards they moved to their farm in North Dumfries, where they resided until the day of her death. Though the deceased had been failing for over two years, she was not confined to the house until 1st June last. From the beginning of the more recent illness, she seemed conscious that she was not to recover. Indeed she frequently expressed her readiness and willingness to "depart and be with Christ, which is far better." Months ago she made arrangements and suggestions concerning her funeral which she requested should be conducted in the simplest and most, unostentatious manner. Though confined to her bed for over six months, she exhibited the most patient and contented spirit there evidencing to the last, that beautiful, peaceful Christian character which was as much appreciated by those who enjoyed the privilege of her acquaintance. She leaves her husband, two sons and three daughters. Robert, on the farm, in North Dumfries; Theron in Toronto; Miss Gibson, Matron at the Hospital; Mrs. Jos. H. Ellis of Ellisburg, N.W.T. and Sarah Charlotte at home, who realize the loss they have sustained in being deprived of the righteous and elevating influence of so long and devoted a wife and mother, so long enjoyed by all of them and which has proved such a blessing in influencing and moulding their characters. The funeral took place on Monday last, when a large number of friends and relatives met to pay their last tribute of respect, to the memory of the deceased. The interment taking place in Trinity church cemetery.
