- Morden Pioneer Dies Mrs. W. J. Schnarr, 74
KILLARNEY, Man. Sept. 14 - Mrs. W. J. Schnarr, 74, pioneer of the Morden and Killarney districts died Sept. 6. Her husband,, W. J. Schnarr, died in 1941. Mrs. Schnarr was born at Bryson, Ont., the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. James Wilson, who moved to the Glenrose district, south of Morden in 1877. She taught school for many years and served In in the Mowbray, Boissevain, Roland and Northcole districts. 1899 she married Mr. Schnarr.
Mrs. Schnarr was a member of the Emerald Rebekah lodge, Killarney, for over 25 years and was district deputy for five terms. She was a life member of the Woman's Missionary society.
Survivors Include three sons, Wilfred and Raymond of Noranda and Herman of Detroit; two daughters, Mrs. W. M. Clement of Killarney and Mrs. John Forsyth of Russell, Man., and eleven grandchildren.
Funeral service was held Saturday afternoon a: the Killarney United church with Dr. B. W. allison officiating. Burial was made in the local cemetery and pall bearers were J. C. Bate, T. H. Ballantyne, R. S. Middleton. C. C. High, J. Clement and F. Freeman.

Two New Manitoba Customs Officers \endash Desires Change of Name
Ottawa, April 7 \endash His excellency the governor-general has been pleased to make the following appointments:
William Joseph Schnarr, Killarney, Manitoba, sub-collector of customs, John Duncan Ferguson, Saskatoon, Northwest Territories, sub-collector of customs.
Lieutenant- Colonel and Brevet-Colonel F.L. Lessard, C.B., and Lieutenant-Colonel and Brevet-Colonel C.W. Drury, C.B., honorary aides-de-camp to his Excellency, the governor-general.
The Northwest Coke and Coal Railway Company will apply to parliament for a extension of time for the completion of their works. They also ask to have the name of the company changed to the Great West Railway Company.
