    • SCHMIDT, Arthur C. "Art" Passed away peacefully at St. Mary's Hospital in Kitchener on Tuesday, February 9, 2010, in his 92nd year. Beloved husband of the late Nora (nee Daly) Schmidt (2007). Loving father of Mary Dreifelds of Picton and her late husband Peter, Betty McLachlan and her husband Fred of Winterbourne and Judy Swartz and her husband Tom of Kitchener. Cherished and proud grandfather of Michael Dreifelds and his wife Nicole, Christopher Dreifelds, Andrea Dreifelds, Karen Maric and her husband Rob, Andrew McLachlan and his wife Theresa, Meghann Swartz and her husband Joe Kimpson and Laurie Swartz. Great-grandfather of Peter and Jacob Dreifelds, Parker and Milo Kimpson and Emma Maric. Dear brother of Helene Herbst of Waterloo, Kathleen "Ruby" Koebel of St. Catharines, Audrey Brown and her husband Jerry of Elmira. Predeceased by his parents Norman and Bertha (nee Holst) Schmidt. Art's family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, February 18, 2010 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Henry Walser Funeral Home , 507 Frederick St., Kitchener, 519-749-8467. A service to celebrate Art's life will be held in the funeral home chapel on Friday, February 19, 2010 at 11 a.m. Reception immediately following the service. Cremation to take place at Parkview Crematorium. Memorial donations to St. Mary's Hospital or the Jesuit Development Fund would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
