Notes |
- MRS. JOHN KEITH
Landing at New York they came by the Hudson River and Erie Canal to Oswego, crossed the lake to Toronto and then to Hamilton. From this they came to Preston, then to Winterbourne, where they left some of their fellow travellers, among them being George Loggie and his wife, and Adam L. Argo who there joined his brother James, who had preceded him.
It was the 10th. of June and they felt the heat very much, and were tormented by the mosquitos, as they came through the long woods between Winterbourne and Inverhaugh, but here, at Mrs. Robinson's, they found pans full of milk floating on spring water "and they were loath to leave it."
