      George Gildner Owned Grand Haven Hotel


      George Gildner, 84 former Grand Rapids resident and owner of the former Gildner hotel In Grand Haven, died Tuesday at his home in Chicago.

      Mr. Gildner owned and operated the hotel, now the Schuler, in Grand Haven from 1906 to 1924. A native of Canada. he came to Grand Rapids at the turn of the century and lived at 630 Paris av.. SE. He was a member of Trinity English Lutheran church. Mr. Gildner moved to Chicago In 1940.

      Survivors included two sons. Henry of Detroit and Arthur of Blue Ridge Summit. Pa. and a daughter Mrs. Bernard Whitley of Detroit.

      The body is at the Metcalf funeral home where services will be held at 1:30 p. m. Thursday with Dr. Ralph S. White. minister emeries of Trinity English Church officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill cemeteyr.
