Notes |
- Death of Miss C. Morton - The many friends of Miss Christena Morton were shocked to hear that she had passed away about ten o'clock on Monday evening. She was taken seriously ill over two months ago and, for a time, seemed to rally, but the end came suddenly and peacefully. Miss Morton had been an invalid for many years, and her brave endurance of a painful illness has won the respect and admiration of all who knew her. Her cheery outlook on life and her strong sense of humour were a constant source of surprise and enjoyment to her many friends and acquaintances, and there were few who visited her who did not come away heartened and feeling better able to face difficulties that, somehow, seemed to have grown less difficult. She was a member of Knox United Church and was interested in all church work, with which she assisted, to the limit of her ability, to the end. Miss Morton is survived by two sisters, Misses Jessie and Katherine, at home, and two brothers, Robert and James, on farms near Ayr and Glenmorris respectively. They have the deep sympathy of a very wide circle of friends and acquaintances in their bereavement.
