SAD DEATH- John Thompson, a son of Mr. John Thompson, sr. of Woolwich T'p. who has been working in the vicinity of Niagara during the past year, died of typhoid fever at that place last Saturday. The deceased was about 23 years of age and had the reputation of being an exemplary young man. Although employed at Niagara he did not let his employment prevent him from coming home during harvest time and assisting his father to harvest his crops. Returning to Niagara he soon began to complain of not feeling well and at last succumbed to typhoid fever. The remains were brought to Elmira last Monday and interred in the Union cemetery, being met at the station by the sorrowing relatives and a large concourse of sympathizing friends and acquaintances.
