    • KARGES, Harold George - Born June 29, 1915, Harold passed away peacefully, on Monday, May 19, 2008, in his 93rd year. He was predeceased in 1992 by his loving wife, Marie (nee Bitschy), after 58 years of marriage, and by his second-eldest daughter, Beverly in 1970. Survived and lovingly remembered by his four other children, daughter, Pat and her husband Glen Doerbecker; son, Mike and his wife Sandy; daughter, Sandy and her husband David Rung; and daughter, Wendy and her husband Fred Fraser. Harold leaves behind 12 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. He will be sadly missed by his loving companion, Claire Krafchick and her family. Harold is also survived by his sister, Marjorie Weiler; by sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, and by many nieces and nephews. Harold delivered telegrams during the early depression years and then, as did his father and his grandfather, he worked at the Dominion Rubber Co. (later Uniroyal) on Strange Street for most of his working life. When he took early retirement from Uniroyal in 1974, he spent many happy years as a school crossing-guard and traveling around North America with Marie. Harold's family invites relatives and friends to share their memories of Harold at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home , 621 King Street West, Kitchener, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Thursday, May 22, 2008. The funeral service will take place at St. John's RC Church, 85 Strange Street, Kitchener, on Friday, May 23, 2008 at 10: 30 a.m. followed by internment at Woodland Cemetery in Kitchener. Following the internment, there will be a reception at the Ratz-Bechtel Family Centre. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society of Canada or the charity of your choice would be most appreciated by the family.
