    • Henry Gies

      For the last 38 years an esteemed resident of this city, Henry Gies, late of 181 Oak the avenue, passed away to-day at the General Hospital. Born in Floradale, Ont., 73 years ago, he came to Hamilton in 1899 and for a long period of time belonged to Knox Presbyterian church. He had lived retired for several years. Surviving him are two sons, Harold Gies and Dr. Albert Gies, of this city; a daughter, Mrs.
      E. McQueen, of Oyster Bay, N.Y.; four brothers: Phillip, in Kitchener; Louis, of Waterloo; Albert, in Cleveland, and August, of Elgin, Ill.; also three sisters: Mrs. John Maier in Hamilton; G. Julke, of Preston, and Mrs. T. Maynard, who lives in Hamilton, Ohio. The funeral will be held on Monday afternoon at 3.30 o'clock from Truscott Brothers' funeral home to Woodland cemetery.
