  EDWARD JOHN STEFFLER A resident of Spruce Grove, Alberta, for 63 years, Edward John Steffler, 83, died Tuesday, Dec. 19, in the town of Spruce Grove, where he had resided since his retirement from active farming in 1948. Mr. Steffler was born in Elmira, and moved to the Spruce Grove district in 1898. He was a member of the Albert Wheat Pool and a form councillor in Stony Plain municipality. He was a life member in the congregation of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in Spruce Grove and a former school board trustee. Mr. Steffler is survived by his widow; two daughter, Mrs. William Schwindt and Mrs. Albert Harris, of Spruce Grove; a son, Ernest, of Edmonton; eight grandchildren; three brother, Albert, Charles and Herbert, all of Spruce Grove, and a sister, Mrs. Angeline Betinger, of Bridgeport, Ont.
