  • Notes
    • We have to-day to chronicle the death of Sophia Stumpf, youngest daughter of Mr. Daniel Stumpf, after a lingering illness. She had always a weakness of the spine, and this was probably the ultimate cause of her death. A couple of months ago she began perceptibly to fail and her powers gradually left her until the final dissolution came on Tuesday evening. Deceased was of a quiet, friendly disposition. For years she had been a Sunday school teacher and also a member of the choir of St. James Lutheran church, and the choir attended the funeral in a body and sang several suitable funeral songs. Deceased had for years kept house for her father being the only child at home. He will therefore feel the loss of her keenly. To him and the other members of the family is extended the sympathy of the community.
