Notes |
- In Galt on the 3rd inst., William Ferguson, Esq., aged 75 years, 7 months and 12 days. Mr. Ferguson had been a resident of Galt for the past 31 years. He was a native of Stranraer, parish of Leswart, Gallowayshire, Scotland, from which place he emigrated to this country in the year 1834. During his long residence in Galt he occupied several positions of trust, and was universally known for his sterling integrity. Naturally a very strong man, Mr. Ferguson a few weeks ago received a severe bite on the leg from a dog, which utterly prostrated him, and from the effects of which he never recovered. The Funeral took place on Monday last, and was most numerously attended.
