Notes |
- Word was received here, last week, that Mr. William Stickney, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Stickney, of Elmira, had died at the Guelph General Hospital, of pneumonia. Deceased was married to a daughter of the late Samuel Bird, of Woolwich. She survives her husband with nine children. The funeral of the late Wm. Stickney took place Sunday afternoon from his late residence, Galt street, Guelph, and was largely attended. Guelph lodge A.O.U.W., of which the deceased was a member, was represented and there were present a large number of his fellow teamsters with the Shedden Co. The deceased's parents and brothers and sisters were all present with the exception of one brother, Rueben, who is in the West. The children were also all present to pay their last tribute of respect to their beloved father. The services were conducted by the Rev. Dr. Henderson and the Rev. James Harris. The pallbearers were the deceased's brothers, John, Michael, Albert, Mathew, and Messrs. Joseph, Thackery and James Cherry, brothers-in-law.
