  George and Barbara came to America with their children in 1840, time consumed in voyage 45 days. Owing to Barbara's illness they stayed in New York City two months then went to Buffalo where they lived two years before removing to Waterloo County, Ontario, where they settled in North Dumfries Township in the area that was known as Roseville.
