      WELLESLEY\emdash Joseph Z. Kuepfer of RR 1, Newton, died Sunday at Listowel Hospital after a brief illness. He was 86.
      Mr. Kuepfer was born in Mornington Township and was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Soloman Kuepfer. He farmed at Peffers all his life and was a member of the Amish Mennonite faith.
      Surviving are his wife, the former Lydia Jantzi, whom he married in 1903; four sons, Soloman, Daniel and Aaron, all of RR 1, Newton, and Menno of RR 2, Atwood; three brothers, Ezra of RR 1, Newton, Soloman of Seaforth, and Emmanuel of St. Agatha; two sisters, Mrs. Harold (Tena) Carter of RR 1, Newton, and Mrs. Christian (Mary) Kuepfer of RR 2, Atwood; 15 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by one daughter, Katie; two brothers, and three sisters.
      The body is at his residence where the service will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. Burial will be in the Seventh Line Amish Mennonite cemetery, Mornington Township. Bishop Samuel Steckly will officiate.
