- Sudden Death of Eramosa Farmer
Tuesday's Guelph Mercury reports the sudden death of a well-known Eramosa farmer, Wm. A. Glennie, on Monday afternoon. He was stricken with heart failure and expired immediately while at work in his barn. His two sons were in the building at the time and one of them had spoken to him only five minutes before his death. One son then went up into the mow to throw down some hay, and on coming down fond his father stretched on the granary floor dead. Everything possible was done to revive him but it was soon seen that he had passed beyond recall.
The deceased had been around as usual all day and had not complained of not feeling well, although he had been doctoring for some time for heart trouble.
He was a son of the late Wm. Glennie and was born in the Jerusalem section 55 years ago. About 30 years ago he was married to Elizabeth Wollis, of West Montrose, and to this union 2 sons and a daughter were born. The survivors are his widow; Irene, at home; Russel, at home, and Earle, who is a teacher near lake Erie. Mr. Glennie has also two brothers and three sisters living. They are Peter, of near Linwood; George, on the old homestead; Mrs. Duncan, in British Columbia; Mrs. Hill, at Conestogo and Mrs. Ware, at Winterbourne.
