  Johnson, James T., general blacksmith and wagon maker. Settled here, 1855, after a residence in the States of 14 years. Is Councillor of village, which office he has held ten years. Illustrated Atlas of the County of Waterloo, H. Parsel & Co., Toronto - 1881 (Village of New Hespeler entries) ______________ After Hunter moved into his new shop, then a one-storey building, which we know as "Saults" Blacksmith Shop, James P. Johnston set up business in his own place and carried on till at least 1882 and I believe much longer.
