AYR-Personal
We regret to state that Mr James Watson, son of J. Watson, Esq. who is now at College in Ithaca, N.Y. is lying very ill of Typhoid Fever. A telegram brought the sad news on Monday last when Mr. and Mrs. Watson immediately started for the other side. since then telegrams have been received regularly and we are glad to learn that the young man, though still somewhat low, is doing as well as can be expected.

_________________________
It is with sincere regret we learn just as we are going to print that Mr. James Watson, son of John Watson Esq., of Ayr, whose illness was noticed in our Ayr correspondence last week, breathed his last at half past eight o'clock yesterday morning. Deceased some years ago attended the Galt Grammar School and afterwards Upper Canada College, Toronto, where he took a high place amongst his school fellows and gave promise of a brilliant career. Subsequently selecting Civil Engineering for a profession, he went to College at Ithaca, N.Y. to prosecute his studies towards this end. He had already completed one session and was entering upon his second when he was struck down with the fell disease Typhoid Fever which had so far supervened that ere his friends could reach his beside, not twelve hours after they received the sad news he was already unconscious and remained so, we believe, to the end. He was in every respect an estimable young man and much beloved by all who knew him. We need scarcely add that Mr. Watson and family with all other mourning relatives and friends have the sincere sympathy of the community in their bereavement. The funeral takes place to-morrow (Thurs.) at 2 o'clock.
