- Bertram H Brown
ELMIRA - A former mayor of Elmira, Bertram H. Brown, 68 of 6 Cross St died Wednesday at Tavistock shortly after he was discharged from Westminster Hospital, London.. Ont., to return here. He spent six weeks in hospital.
He had stopped to visit a brother when he died.
Born Feb. 21, 1891 in Pembroke, he was a son of the late Rev. and Mrs. George Brown. He served on town council many years, and was mayor for three terms. He was a veteran of the First World War, a member of Zion Evangelical United Brethren Church, Elmira, and the Elmira Branch of the Canadian Legion.
Surviving art his wife, the former Mary Annette Bricker: two sons, Murray of Elmira, Grant of Kitchener. one daughter Mrs. Norman (Beth) Clement of Elmira; one brother. Wilford of Tavistock: one sister, Miss Miranda Brown of Toronto: eight grandchildren. One brother predeceased him.
The body is at the Dreisinger Funeral Parlor where the funeral will be conducted Friday 3 pm. by Rev. J. W. Siebert. Burial will be In Elmira Cemetery.
