- OTTO, Arthur Harry Passed away in his sleep on Saturday, December 5, 2009 at his home in New Hamburg at the age of 86 years. Arthur was born June 12, 1923 in Wilmot Township to the late Milton and Beatrice (Rohr) Otto. Art is survived by Joan (Dinger) Otto, his wife of 56 years. Loving father and grandfather of son Howard and his children Janessa, Jennifer and her fiancé Greg Rabus, Janet and her fiancé Joe Sales; daughter Margaret Swoboda and her husband Frank and their children Jonathan and his wife Swati, Dwayne, Jeremy, Andrew and Bethany; son James and his wife Mary and their children Michael, Andrea, Christine, Kathryn, Matthew and Daniel; son David and his wife Lorraine and their children Joshua, Stephanie, Graham and Serena. Also survived by sister-in-law Hazel Zehr and her husband Ray and brother-in-law Don Zarnke and wife Gwen. Predeceased by his parents, his beloved sister June Zarnke and his wife's parents Victor and Elma (Sararas) Dinger. Art lived on the family farm (Haysville) until 1982, when he and Joan moved to New Hamburg. Art was employed as a Road Foreman for the Region of Waterloo for many years until his retirement in 1988. He was a faithful member of New Dundee Baptist Church. Art enjoyed helping on the farm, where he gardened for the whole family each summer and also enjoyed traveling. Family and friends are invited to share their memories with the family at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home , 291 Huron Street, New Hamburg on Tuesday December 8, 2009 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday December 9, 2009 at 11: 00 a.m. at New Dundee Baptist Church, 1173 Queen Street, New Dundee with Rev. Paul Kowtecky officiating. Interment in Riverside Cemetery, New Hamburg. In Art's memory donations may be made to New Dundee Baptist Church or the Cardiac Care Unit of St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener.
