Former Resident of Holyoke Is Found Dead in New Bedford Home.
HOLYOKE, Feb. 19 - William H. Topham, for 35 years an employee of the Farr Alpaca company, found dead today in his home in New Bedford, to which city he removed six years ago. The message received here said: that death: was caused by asphyxiation. An open gas jet was found in the chamber.
Mr. Topham's wife and only child, a boy, died 10 years, ago. He was here on a visit four weeks ago, spending the day with his nephew, Abraham H., Topham of Chestnut street
Mr. Topham came here with the Farr Alpaca company from Canada and remained with the concern until his removal to New Bedford, where he had taken a position with the New Bedford Spinning company.
He leaves one brother, Abraham; two nephews, Augustus Topham of Astoria, L. I., and Abraham H. Topham of this city; a niece, Mrs. C. H. The Holyoke nephew left this afternoon for New Bedford and he will bring the body to Holyoke.
The funeral will be held Tuesday afternoon in Alger's undertaking rooms and the burial will be in. the family lot in. Forestdale.
