    • In Memoriam Died, In Ayr, on Tuesday, Sept. 29, 1908, at 1. 15 o'clock p. m., Mary Brown, Relict of the late John Fraser, Aged 70 Years, 6 Months and 23 Days. The Funeral Will take place from her late residence, Willison st., on Thursday, Oct. 1st, At 2. 30 p. m., to Ayr Cemetery. Friends and acquaintances will please accept this intimation.WHS 2007-077

      Passing of Mrs. John Fraser

      Death has added another to the long list of aged persons who have passed from our midst in this section, this time in the person of Mrs. John Fraser, who passed away early Tuesday afternoon, in her 71st year. Mary Brown, which was her maiden name, was the second daughter of the late James Brown of North Dumfries. Deceased was born in that township and was therefore one of the earliest pioneers of the section. In 1858, she was married to John Fraser, who predeceased her by some years. She continued residing in Dumfries, until a few years ago, when she took up residence in Ayr. The fruits of the union were nine children, seven of whom are still living. They are: John B. in North Dumfries, ; Mrs. M. Furlong at Mount Forest ; Mrs. Geo. Fairbairn and Mrs. Wm. Taylor, Gat; Mrs. J. W. Bell and Mrs, Leo. Cadwell, Ayr, and Mr. Herbert Thompson, Newdale, Man. Mrs. Fraser was a motherly woman, giving all due attention to her family and her household duties and her demise will be regretted by a wide circle of friends, who will recall pioneer days. The funeral takes place today at 2.30 p.m., when the services will be conducted, by Rev. D. I. Ellison.
